VLCC Hull Recoating in Dry Dock
Complete antifouling and anticorrosive recoating of a 320m Very Large Crude Carrier during scheduled drydocking.
- Client
- Confidential Owner (VLCC)
- Location
- Batam Dry Dock, Indonesia
- Year
- 2025
- Scope
- Full hull blast, primer, tie-coat and antifouling application across 45,000 m².
The Challenge
The vessel required a 60-month docking cycle in warm-water trade — an aggressive fouling profile that demanded a high-performing self-polishing system with predictable smoothness retention.
Our Solution
We applied BANNOH 500 as the anticorrosive primer, followed by a full SEA GRANDPRIX 880 antifouling scheme with dedicated bootline and vertical side schemes.
The Result
Delivered on schedule with zero defects on final survey. Owner reported measurable fuel savings on the first voyage after dock exit.
